Moxibustion

Moxibustion

Moxibustion, often referred to as Moxa, is a traditional healing practice that involves the burning of a specific herb called mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) near the skin to stimulate healing.

This therapy has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine to improve circulation, promote warmth in the body, and enhance the body’s natural healing ability.

During a Moxa session, I will carefully apply the heat generated by the burning mugwort either directly on specific acupuncture points or through a small distance from the skin. The warmth penetrates deep into your muscles and tissues, helping to alleviate pain, boost energy, and improve overall vitality. Moxibustion is particularly beneficial for conditions related to cold, stiffness, or sluggish circulation, such as arthritis, digestive issues, or menstrual discomfort.

The sensation of Moxa is often described as deeply comforting. The gentle warmth provides relief from aches, stiffness, or fatigue, and many clients notice an immediate improvement in their overall sense of physical vitality. It’s also a wonderful way to support immune health and promote recovery from illness.

If you’re concerned about discomfort, rest assured that Moxa is a non-invasive, soothing therapy.

The warmth is controlled and pleasant, never harsh, and it’s always tailored to your comfort level.

Each session is customized based on your specific health needs, ensuring the treatment supports your body’s unique healing process.

Moxibustion is a time-honored method that can provide lasting relief and rejuvenation, especially for those who feel cold, fatigued, or physically depleted. Whether used on its own or alongside acupuncture, Moxa offers a natural and effective way to bring warmth, circulation, and balance to the body.
